PURPOSE:To prevent sticking resulting from welding burr from occurring, by a method wherein an annular notch is formed on an outer periphery of the lower end part of a plunger, in a titled lifter to be used for a valve mechanism of an internal-combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A main body of a lifter is joined together at a part 21 through resistance welding or projection welding. Burr 22 is generated as a result of the welding. As a plunger 23 comes down at the time of suspension of an engine and an outer periphery of the lower end part of the plunger 23 touches the burr when the plunger 23 reaches a position in the vicinity of the welded part 21, an annular notch 24 is provided on the outer periphery of the lower end part of the plunger 23 to prevent this touch from occurring. The lower end part of the plunger, consequently, does not become interferential with the welding burr 22 and sticking due to the burr can be prevented. |
