PURPOSE:To contrive the realization of sleeve wrapping excellent in resistance to both package stacking load and handling impact by gradually deforming in the cross section of an exterior wrapping material from the hexagonal ends in engagement with cushioning materials to the square surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A pair of opposite cushioning materials 2 is provided at each end of an article 1 to be packaged. The exterior wrapping surface 4 of the cushioning materials 2 is shaped into the form of a hexagon. An exterior wrapping material 3 is made of corrugated fiber board and the ends thereof are so shaped as to conform with the hexagonal shape of the cushioning materials 2, the other parts thereof being shaped into the form of a square. These hexagonal shapes of the cushioning parts are gradually deformed to the square surfaces. The article is covered with the cushioning materials 2 and the exterior wrapping material 3 and straps 5 are wrapped around this package through the cushioning materials, thereby completing the packaging operation. |
