PURPOSE:To reduce the temperature of separated gas by a method wherein heat exchange between material air after compressing by a secondary compressor and the material air, refined by an adsorber and before being introduced into the secondary compressor, is effected and, thereafter, the material air is introduced into the main body of an air separating device. CONSTITUTION:Material air, compressed by a compressor 6, is cooled in a water washing cooling tower 7 and is refined by adsorbers 8a, 8b, then, heat exchange is effected in a heat exchanger 14 between the material air and the material air compressed by a secondary compressor 9 and the material air is introduced into a cold box 3 after compressing it by the secondary compressor 9. The cooling of cooling water W introduced into the water washing cooling tower 7 and/or the precooling of the adsorbers 8a, 8b are effected by separated gas Gw discharged out of the cold box 3. The temperature of the material air A, introduced into the cold box (the main body of an air separating device) 3, is lowered by the heat exchange of the material air A and, accordingly, the temperature of the separated gas Gw is also lowered whereby the cooling water may be cooled to a lower temperature. On the other hand, the precooling of adsorbers may be effected whereby adsorbing agent M may be precooled sufficiently. |
