PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and graininess and to improve the preservable property and inter-image effect by specifying the position of the max. value of the silver halide particles incorporated into emulsion layers and the range of the average silver iodide content thereof. CONSTITUTION:The latent image distribution of the silver halide particles incorporated in the emulsion layers of the silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layers on a base has at least one max. value in the particles thereof and the existence position thereof is at <0.01mum depth from the surface; in addition, the average silver iodide content of the particles is specified to >=5mol% and <=15mol%. The internal latent image type emulsion formed by controlling the particle forming conditions of the emulsion and controlling the max. value position of the latent image distribution and the ratio of the surface sensitivity and the internal sensitivity to optimum values has not only the good blue sensitivity and color sensitizing sensitivity but the good preservable property of the latent image as well and receives the good inter-image effect when said emulsion is used for the double-layer photosensitive material. |
