PURPOSE:To provide comfortable ride and a means of energy saving, in an air conditioner in which a variable performance compressor composed of coaxial 2 cylinders is used, by selecting the operation condition of the said compressor to eighter one of 2 cylinders operation, 1 cylinder operation, and operation stop, while taking the set cabin temperature and the detected temperature into account. CONSTITUTION:A cooling cycle is composed in such a way that, cooling medium emitted from a rotary piston type variable performance compressor 1 composed of coaxial 2 cylinders is returned to each inlet 1b, and 1c through a condenser 3, a receiver dryer 4, an expansion valve 5, and a cooler 6. A switching valve 7 is prepared in a pipe which is connected to one inlet 1b, and the valve 7 controlls the temperature by a control apparatus 8 with the help of an electro-magnetic clutch 2, in accordance with each of the outputs of temperature detector 9 close to cooler 6, and a temperature detector 10 in the car room. That is; both the switch valve 7 and the clutch 2 are ON till the temperature drops to the set level, and, only the switch valve 7 is OFF, when the temperature below the set level, and the clutch 2 is also OFF when the temperature drops below the desired level. |
