PURPOSE:To automatically diagnose a fault and to instruct repair to a maintainer by integrating expert systems on print boards. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a parity error, for example, a bus 2 and the print boards(PB) 10 and 11 which have used the bus 2 at the time of detecting the fault are assumed to be in a suspected range. On the other hand, device parts 13-15 are identified to be in what kind of states they are at the time of detecting the fault. A knowledge base 28 which is externally fitted collects information on a process in which the cause of the fault is assumed, and state information of PB10-12, analyzes them, decides the means and the process of the diagnosis of a fault device. A decision result is transferred to the built-in expert systems(BES) 19-21 together with the diagnosed result, and BES 19-21 analyze information on the cause of the fault and the decision result and selects a test string. Test data for verifying the normality of the device parts 13-15 select and execute test terms from data in the knowledge bases 22-24 in response to the purpose of inspection. |
