<p>PURPOSE:To excavate two adjacent tunnels simultaneously in narrow occupied width by installing two main cutter heads in parallel and mounting an auxiliary cutter head having a diameter smaller than that of the main cutter head in a clearance section between the main cutter heads. CONSTITUTION:Two main body sections 4, 4 respectively having circular sectional space are set up, a communicating section 5 communicating both main body sections 4, 4 is fitted in a clearance section between the main body sections 4, 4, and the whole is covered with a shell 2 and shelled plates 3...3. Space in the shell 2 is partitioned into a front sediment retention chamber 7 and a rear work room 8 by a partition wall 6. Main cutter heads 9, 9 rotatably supported by the partition wall 6 are mounted on the front faces of each main body section 4, 4, and an auxiliary cutter head 21 is installed to the communicating section 5 in the sediment retention chamber 7 while covering the clearance between the main body sections. Required equipments such as sediment extractors 30, 30, segment assembly devices 32, 32, propulsion jacks 33, 33, etc. are annexed.</p> |
