<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently transfer a packet in correspondence with a load state by executing flow and re-transmission control by means of the degree of the load passing through a repeating installation. CONSTITUTION:The reception buffer 9 of the repeating installation 5 supervises the number of processing-waiting packets by a packet supervisory circuit 9a and informs a repeating processing part 10 of the effect that the number of the packets exceeds a limited value by a mode switching signal 17 when the number does. When there is no signal 17 from the buffer 9, the processing part 10 transfers it to a transmission buffer 11 as it is. The buffer 11 sequentially transfers the packets to a transmission circuit 12. When the processing part 10 receives the signal from the buffer 9 on the other hand, it switches the mode of flow control, stores and analyzes control information of the packets inputted from the reception buffers 9 and 14 in holding circuits 10a-11c. The packets are transferred to the transmission buffer 11 by an instruction circuit 10d, and a holding signal 18 holding the packets and a removal signal removing the packets are outputted to the buffer 11.</p> |
