PURPOSE: To obtain a ladle shroud provided with gas permeable ring at a low cost by arranging a gas manifold and an integrated projection on a dense refractory material tubular body and a porous refractory ring and mutually pressing and burning. CONSTITUTION: The tubular body 42 composed of an upward conical bore 45 and a center bore 42 is constituted of the dense refractory material. Further, the porous refractory ring 50 together with the body 42 are mutually or cooperately pressed and burnt and a part of the upward conical bore 45 is formed to obtain the ladle shroud 40. The annular gas manifold 56 surrounding the ring 50 and communicated with a gas passage 58 fitted with screw parts 60, is arranged. At this time, the projection 52 for preventing the leakage of gas from the upper surface 54 of the ring 50, is integratedly formed to the body 42 so as to interposed between the upper surface 54 thereof and the upper end of the body 42. It is desirable that average hole diameter in the dense body 42 is about 0.25-10μand average hole diameter in the porous ring 50 is about 10-40μand carbon-bonded alumina refractory material having the common binder component is mainly incorporated in both.
