A matrix of keys is polled by a CPU and is coupled to a decorder that accesses its columns. The key values are defined by data stored in a ROM module. The CPU has a RAM to store key values that are flagged. In high speed operation of the keys, situations can arise when more than three keys are simulataneously operated. In order to minimise the possibility of false data being generated, a check routine is execulated to determine valid conditions.
