Package, particularly a metal one, for a food product, provided with a security cover. According to the invention, the cover 15 which covers the opening 16 of the can body 12 is heat sealed or otherwise stuck to a substantial annular surface of a rounded edge 22 of the said can body. The invention makes it possible to prevent the concealing of a fraud or malicious act by resealing the cover.
