The sighting mark arrangement includes a light emitting capsule (3f), pref. a beta-ray transmissive capsule enclosing a betaray producing substance, mounted in telescopic sighting tube at a point on a circle which is centred on the longitudinal axis of the sighting instrument. The capsule disposed at an axial distance of between about 0 and 2R counted from a plane perpendicular to the axis and passing through the centre of the sighting mark. The distance to the centre not exceeding 2r, where r is the radius from centre to the periphery of the light opening in the sighting tube at the level of the plane. The capsule is positioned and directed to send at least a proportion of the radiation from the capsule.
