This cushion is characterised by a layer of foam 1 which, when fitted, extends from the buttock region 3 over the entire lumbago region 4 as far as the thoracic region 5, and from the face of which which is then the upper face a plurality of buttons 2 extend upwards. The buttons may be in a single piece with the layer or adhesively bonded into cavities therein. Advantageously the surface enveloping the buttons has a shape matching that of the back of the patient. <IMAGE>
