PURPOSE:To facilitate a tracking control to use a floating type magneto-optical head by causing an emitted beam to execute an irradiation along the moving direction of an arm and forming a light spot through an objective onto a magneto-optical recording medium with a reflecting mirror. CONSTITUTION:A floating type magneto-optical head 5 to mount an objective 9 and a coil 8 for generating a magnetic field on a slider 7 is provided at one edge of a mobile arm 2 in non-contact in the radius direction of a disk magneto- optical recording medium 3, and for the other edge of the arm 2, a tracking servo is executed by a voice coil motor 4. The emitted beam from a fixed optical system 1 equipped with a light source irradiates an information detecting mechanism along the moving direction of the arm 2, and simultaneously, the light spot is formed through the objective 9 onto the magneto-optical recording medium 3 by a reflecting mirror 10 provided to the arm 2 just on the optical axis of the objective 9. Thus, the optical system 1 can be provided in a fixed position without being mounted on the arm 2, and the tracking control to utilizing the floating type magneto-optical head can be facilitated. |
