The network consists of multiple line meshes which each consist of four branches with alternate half and quarter wavelengths. These are so conductively coupled together that each two meshes have a common half-wavelength branch, so that always exactly two half wavelengths remain which are only common to one mesh. The first port is coupled via a matching network consisting of line parts, which in the simplest event consists of one line piece (6) with the wave impedance of the feed line, with the middle of the half-wavelength branch (14) common to only one mesh. The ends of the same are coupled via line sections (15,16) with the second port (2) and the third port (3). One end of the other branch (12), coupled to only one mesh is coupled via a line piece (7) with the fourth port (4).
