PURPOSE:To prevent a creep so as to allow a quick and smooth start by maintaining friction elements engageable in the drive range under a condition of just before their engagement. CONSTITUTION:In order to prevent a creep in D range, when a speed selecting valve is placed in the D range within the device 100 built in a rear clutch as a forward first gear selecting friction element, a line pressure PL is supplied from a circuit 153, and the rear clutch pressure PR caused by such line pressure moves a clutch piston 105b to the right to bring a clutch plate 105c in a friction engagement. While idling, a start detecting valve 71 is initially located at a position on the right hand side in the diagram, and a start control valve 70 is located at a position on the lower side in the diagram. A clutch piston 105b is displaced by the increase of the pressure PR so as to reduce the gap (g), and by the action of the control pressure PS of the start control valve 70, the gap (g) of the piston 105b is made zero where the clutch plate 105c will not be loaded. |
