TREATMENT OF WASTE LIQUID AFTER REGENERATON OF ION EXCHANGE APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To increase the treating capacity of an ion exchange apparatus for producing pure water by mixing waste liq. discharged from the ion exchange apparatus after regeneration with seawater in front of an apparatus for turning seawater into fresh water with a reverse osmotic membrane and by treating the resulting mixture with the membrane. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus 1 for producing fresh water by treatment of seawater with a reverse osmotic membrane and an ion exchange apparatus 2 for producing pure water by ion exchange of fresh water produced in the apparatus 1 are installed. Waste liq. 12 discharged from the apparatus 2 after regeneration is mixed with seawater 3 to be treated in the apparatus 1 and this mixed water is fed to the apparatus 1 and treated. Ion load on the ion exchange apparatus for turning fresh water into pure water is reduced and the treating capacity of the apparatus can be increased.
