In shutterings for series-produced precast concrete compound units, for example for switch sleepers, the shuttering metal sheets serve simultaneously as a template for the position of the installation parts. The shuttering is usually manufactured anew for each series of precast compound units. In the case of small series with different positions of the installation parts, it is cost-effective to use the shuttering metal sheet a number of times. This takes place in that the shuttering metal sheet is provided, before it is installed into the shuttering, with bores for a plurality of precast-compound-unit types, the bores are provisionally closed by suitable means, and the bore combination acquired for manufacturing a specific precast-compound-unit type is found by a specific locating process and freed from its provisional closure. By arranging the bores in the shuttering metal sheet in a fixed grid - expediently on the longitudinal axis and/or axes parallel thereto - or by using through-slots, the capacity for repeated usage of the metal sheet is further increased and the precondition for automatic occupation of the shuttering by various precast-compound-unit types is provided. <IMAGE>
