A vertically adjustable podium, in particular a scissors-type podium, for stages or the like exhibits a platform. The mutually opposite platform sides are provided, on the platform underside, with latching holes for engageable and disengageable locking pins which interact with said latching holes and serve to fix the height. The locking pins can be actuated, by means of an actuating device arranged on the platform underside, in particular on diametrically opposite second platform sides. A simple construction method has been achieved in that the actuating device exhibits a drive shaft which extends between the two platform sides and is designed as a multiple-groove shaft. Arranged in a rotationally fixed manner on this drive shaft is at least one axially slideable multiple-groove hub which exhibits at least one drive lever which juts out at the periphery and is intended for actuating the locking pins.
