A clock movement comprises an elongated C-shaped stator having two parallel legs of which ends are opposed to each other to form sator poles, a rotor located between the poles and rotatably supported within a movement case which supports the stator, a first reduction gear located on the stator central axis and engaging the rotor, and a time-indicating gear train opperatively connected to the first gear. The movement case has an alongated rectangular shape. The gear train from the rotor to the timeindicating gear train is arranged on a straight or curved line extending along or from adjacent the stator central axis and is supported within the movement case.
