Oil cooler

An oil cooler has a housing through which water is conducted, and in the housing a tube stack made from disc-shaped flat tubes through the interior of which the oil to be cooled is conducted. Use is made for the purpose of fastening the oil cooler to a component of at least one tubular fastening element which penetrates the housing together with the tube stack at right angles and engages by means of a threaded step at the end in a threaded bore of the component and contains an inner duct, conducting the oil, which opens out towards the component. The fastening element bears at least one annular collar which is arranged at only a short distance from the end of the threaded step and overlaps the housing wall on its inside averted from the component, strikes thereagainst and upon tightening of the fastening element clamps the housing together with the tube stack fixed thereon against the component. The sensitive tube stack is relieved of the clamping forces and not endangered thereby. The forces act only over a short distance. Additional special fastening means, spacers or the like can be dispensed with, and this saves costs, individual parts and space.
