<p>PURPOSE: To detect the wear of a strap of a composite laminated structure and to check the time for its exchange by constituting the strap of layers or inserts capable of supplying optic, electric or magnetic signals or respective layers of different hues. CONSTITUTION: A strap of the composite laminated structure for controlling the movement of the weft gripper of a shuttleless loom is composed of the layers or inserts 6 consisting of materials having the optic, electric or magnetic characteristics or upper layers 2, 3 and 4 of the strap are composed of the different hues which are respective distinctly identifiable. When the inserts 6 consisting of conductors, magnetic sheets or wires or the materials capable of making signal transmission, reflection and refraction of light are used, the wear may be detected by the exposure of the inserts 6 upon wearing of the strip and when the inserts consists of the respective layers of the different hues, the wear is visually checkable.</p> |
