<p>PURPOSE:To improve the strength of a building material and the productivity of the material by adding sepiolite fiber and reinforcing fiber to a siliceous compound at specific weight ratios and using the mixture as a building material. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. of a siliceous compound is mixed with 90-100 pts.wt of slaked lime, 5-10 pts.wt. of light aggregate, 1-10 pts.wt. of sepiolite fiber and 0.5-3 pts.wt. of reinforcing fiber to form an aqueous slurry. A sheet is formed from the slurry by paper-making method, extrusion forming or casting and the sheet is cured and hardened e.g., by autoclave (compression) curing process to obtain a building material. Since the sepiolite fiber has large specific surface area, i.e. sufficient void, the water-absorptivity and the dispensability in water are improved to improve the productivity of the material. The tensile strength of the product is increased by the presence of the prescribed amount of the reinforcing fiber. The strength of the building material and the workability in the production of the material are improved by the above process.</p> |
