PURPOSE:To enhance electrophotographic characteristics and durability by forming a photosensitive layer containing a specified squarium compound on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on the conductive substrate comprises at least one of the squarium compound represented by formula I in which each of Ar1 and Ar2 is different from each other, and one of both is selected from formula II, and the other is selected from formulae III, IV, and V. When this squarium compound is used as a carrier generating material, an electron receptor, such as trinitrofluorenone or tetranitrofluorenone is used as a carrier transfer material, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to be superior in electrophotographic characteristics and durability. |
