PURPOSE:To achieve required lens driving without considerably lowering continuous photographing speed and to secure focusing accuracy by inhibiting release in continuous photographing operation for a prescribed period after previous release is ended and driving a lens while the release is inhibited. CONSTITUTION:A focus detecting means 1 detects the focusing state of a photographing lens, and outputs a defocus quantity DFO. A lens driving means 2 drives a focusing lens toward a focusing position based on the output detected by the focus detecting means 1. A release control means 3 controls operation so that release is continued while it is currently carried out. In a continuous photographing mode, only with the lens driving when the mirror is faced upward required lens driving is not attained, whereby the release control means 3 inhibits subsequent release until a timer means 4 counts for a prescribed period after previous release ends. While the release is inhibited, a lens driving and controlling means 5 drives the lens. |
