A flameproofed thermoplastic moulding composition comprising (A) from 30 to 90 % by weight of at least one halogen-free, thermoplastic styrene (co)polymer and (B) from 10 to 70 % by weight of cellulose, starch and/or sawdust particles coated with from 30 to 300 % by weight, based on their weight, of melamine phosphate, as a further, preferably the only, halogen-free constituent.
