PURPOSE:To improve the impregnating property of an active material and obtain a high quality electrode plate by running an atmospheric gas into a sintering furnace in the reversed direction to the sheet flow passing through the sintering furnace, passing through a cooling zone and a heating zone, and sending out from the upstream end part of the heating zone. CONSTITUTION:An atmospheric gas G is run into a sintering furnace 7 from the reversed direction to the moving direction of a strip lengthy plate 5 having a slurry dry coated layer to be sintered which plate is passed through the sintering furnace 7, and run into a heating zone 7a through a cooling zone 7b. Thus, the thermal decomposition product of the binder formed in the heating zone 7a of the sintering furnace 7 is prevented from entering into the cooling zone 7b. On the other hand, the atmospheric gas G' containing the thermal decomposition product is carried to the outside through the upstream end part of the heating zone 7a. At a result, the strip lengthy plate 5 provided with a formed sintered layer in the cooling zone 7b undergoes no adhesion of the thermal decomposition product, and is cooled by a pure gas to derive a pure sintered plate P from the sintering furnace 7. |
