PURPOSE:A lubricant useful for subjecting a hot rolled steel plate from which scale is not removed to cold rolling, containing a specific carboxylic aicd salt and a salt of a boron oxide and an alkali salt. CONSTITUTION:The desired lubricant containing (A) an alkali, ammonium, amine or amino-alcohol salt of a carboxylic acid and a salt thereof, (B) a boron oxide shown by the formula aM2O.bB2O3 (a and b are positive integer; M is Na, K, Li, or NH4) and (C) an alkali or ammonia salt (hydrous compd.). |
