PURPOSE:To provide adjustability for generated braking force by forming a rotary damper from a partitioning wall to divide an empty chamber, divided vanes and movable vanes installed in a fluid chamber, a transmission member to transmit torque from outside to the movable vanes, a rate-of-flow adjusting means furnished on the divided wall, and the working fluid. CONSTITUTION:A fluid chamber 31 is divided by divided vanes 34 and movable vanes 24 into fluid sub-chambers 31a, 31b. If torque on a rotor, not illustrated, is transmitted to a transmission member to turn the movable vanes 24 in the direction of arrow (a), the working fluid in the fluid sub-chamber 31a receives a compression force, which presses the head 28a of a valve stem 28 to the movable vanes 24 so as to close a lead-in hole 27. At the same time, it passes orifices 39a-39d and a through hole 40 to be exhausted to a continuity chamber 32. Therein the resistance force generated will generate a braking force for the torque. At this time, a certain revolution is given to an adjusting screw 45 so as to adjust the motion amount of a steel ball 40b at a tapered part 40a, and the area of the through hole 40 is set to the desired value to adjust the braking force. |
