PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and to obtain a wide variable wavelength range by providing a laser output means which emits pulse laser beam, a white light output means which widens its spectrum and generates white light, and a spectrum selecting means which extracts white light selectively in a wavelength range different from a specific wavelength range. CONSTITUTION:This light pulse generating device is equipped with the laser output means A, white light output means B, and spectrum selecting means C. The laser output means A emits the pulse laser beam with a spectrum in the specific wavelength range and, for example, a mode-lock Nd-YAG laser, etc., is usable. The white light output means B widens the spectrum of the pulse laser beam and generates the white light and, for example, a condensed medium, etc., is usable. The spectrum selecting means C selects and transmits the white light in the wavelength range different from the specific wavelength range. Consequently, the structure is simplified and light pulses which has short pulse width and wide synchronism are generated. |
