PURPOSE: To hold a braking wheel in the state of being approximated to the optimum value of a friction coefficient-to-slide curve by determining the rotating deceleration of a wheel for a specified time interval in braking, comparing it with a previously measured rotating deceleration, and also changing a brake pressure control based on the compared results. CONSTITUTION: A test run is performed for a specified time interval, for example, for 10 ms, and a wheel circumferential velocity VRad is recorded in each test run and a speed difference (functions of acceleration and deceleration of braked wheels)ΔV1 andΔV2 in a time interval are obtained. From these values, a variation in acceleration and deceleration is read by a difference forming circuitΔV3 . When the deceleration of a wheel circumferential velocity is larger than a specified limit or an acceleration is smaller than a specified limit, '1' is output from a comparator 1. When an increase in deceleration or a decrease in acceleration is smaller than specified limits, '1' is output from a comparator 2. The outputs from these comparators 1 and 2 are compared with each other at an OR gate G1 and, according to the output from that gate, a pressure reducing valve V is operated through an amplifier A.
