PURPOSE:To make mechanical strength high and thickness thin, and to prevent short circuit by interposing a sheet-shaped separator capable of absorbing sulfuric acid and desorbing it again but apparently having no pinholes between positive and negative plates. CONSTITUTION:A sheet-shaped separator capable of absorbing sulfuric acid and desorbing it again but apparently having no pinholes is interposed between positive and negative plates. This sheet can absorb larger concentration of sulfuric acid than that used in a usual lead acid battery. The thickness of the sheet is made 0.8mm or less. This sheet has higher mechanical strength than a glass mat and can make further thin. In addition, the sheet prevents short circuit. |
