<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an annular elastic member from being exfoliated from a coupling portion, by providing the annular elastic member between an input surface and an output surface. CONSTITUTION:When an electromagnetic coil 4 is supplied with electricity, an attractive force is caused between an input rotary member 2 and an armature 10 and the armature produces a shearing strain in an elastic member 3 and is attracted toward a friction plate 12. Torque transmitted to the armature 10 is further transmitted to a rotary shaft 8 through a damper plate 11, an input surface 17, the elastic member 3, an output surface 24 and a hub 9. The input surface 17 and the output surface 24 extend perpendicularly to the direction of rotation. The elastic member 3 is located between the input surface 17 and the output surface 24. The torque transmission area of the elastic member 3 is large. As a result, the exfoliating forces which the input surface 17 and the output surface 24 exert on the elastic member 3 when the member transmits a compressive force and a tensile force are reduced.</p> |
