PURPOSE:To transmit picture information superimposed on character information, by providing a picture storage means and a character font memory to a relay section transmitting a picture signal obtained from a reading section to a selected recording section. CONSTITUTION:The picture signal outputted from readers R1-R4 is transmitted to a selected transmission address with a control section CPU via an exchange network 701. The transmission/reception between terminals is executed in addition to the tranmission of the picture signal. When a reception request of career exists from a terminal device, a file relating to the reception address from an auxiliary memory 704 is developed of its index in a data memory 709 and its content is developed into the page memory 702 through the use of a photo memory 708 and the result is transmitted as a picture. |
