PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of a negative peak waveform to the reproduced waveform at the time of reproduction and a fear to erase magnetic information on a corresponding magnetic disk medium side by making the tip of an auxiliary magnetic pole into an interdigital shape only for a part facing a guard band provided at the magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A recording/reproducing main magnetic pole 12 is provided on a substrate 11 so that its tip may be exposed to a medium facing surface 17, and an auxiliary magnetic pole 31 is provided so that its tip may be shorter than that of the main magnetic pole and its magnetic pole tip width may be wider than that of the main magnetic pole, while facing the main magnetic pole 12. Further, the tip of the auxiliary magnetic pole 31 is made into the projecting interdigital shape aligned by a medium facing surface 17 only for the part facing a guard band 25 provided at a magnetic recording medium 21. Consequently, the fear of magnetic flux concentration to the edge of the projecting part is eliminated. Thus, the negative peak waveform to the reproduced waveform at the time of the reproduction is not generated, the recording information on the corresponding medium side is not erased, and the recording/ reproducing efficiency can be increased. |
