<p>PURPOSE:To stably detect an object by sequentially turning on a plurality of lights thereby to form shadows of an object to be detected, obtaining the existence position of said object roughly by the utilization of said shadows within a permissible range and restricting the searching area for detecting the position of said object to be small. CONSTITUTION:Data of every chip component 9, for example, position, outer dimension etc. are first inputted in an image recognizing unit 15, so that the relative position and permissible range of a shadow from the center of gravity thereof are determined. Then, a light 10 is turned on to form a shadow 16 of the component 9. The position P1 of the center of gravity of the obtained shadow is calculated. Similarly, lights 11-13 are sequentially turned on and corresponding shadows 17-19 are formed. Respective positions P2-P4 of the center of gravity of these shadows 17-19 are calculated. Thereafter, a position P which is determined by the relative position from the positions P1-P4 is obtained, thereby to restrict the searching area for detecting the position of the component in accordance with the size of to-be-detected objects registered beforehand. Then, the detection is carried out. Subsequently, the position and size of the object are detected in detail, which are then compared with conditions registered beforehand, whereby the final judgement made.</p> |
