<p>PURPOSE:To steer the iso-phase and the opposite phase of front and rear wheels through simple constitution and to improve steering stability by a method wherein the length of an endless chain for intercoupling front and rear power steerings is regulated by a steering phase switching device according to a car speed and steering. CONSTITUTION:A front rear wheel steering system 10 applied to an automobile, for example, a truck 70, is provided with front and rear power steerings 11 and 12. In this case, a rack 13 geared with the drag link 36 side is engaged with an interlocking gear 14 supported on the chassis 71 side. An endless chain 18 is run around a drive sprocket 15, supported to a shaft 46 of an interlocking gear 14, and a pair of driven sprockets 16 and 17, supported on the chassis 71 side, in a state to be counted to a control valve 39 of the rear power steering 12. The length of the endless chain 18 is controlled through a steering phase switching device 19 by a control unit 20.</p> |
