PURPOSE:To obtain the subject excellent composition, containing an aluminosilicate and a compound selected from straight-chain and cyclic polyphosphates in combination as an active ingredient and capable of synergistically acting and suppressing formation of dental calculi. CONSTITUTION:A dentifrice composition containing one or two or more selected fron straight-chain polyphosphates expressed by formula I (M is Na or K; n is >=2) and cyclic polyphosphates expressed by formula II (n is >=3) and an aluminosilicate in combination as an active ingredient. The amount of the blended aluminosilicate is preferably 0.1-70%, especially 1-50% based on the total composition and the amount of the above-mentioned blended polyphosphates is preferably within the range of 0.1-10wt.%, especially 0.5-5wt.% based on the total composition. Straight-chain polyphosphates are preferred as the polyphosphates and, e.g., sodium pyrophosphate (n is 2) and potassium tripolyphosphate (n is 3), are cited. |
