A cross-country binding for retaining a shoe on a ski, of the type comprising a movable lock (7, 63) adapted to cooperate with an associated portion (3) of the shoe for the locking thereof on the ski, a control or unlocking lever of the lock (7, 63) for displacing it into a stable locking position having a stable unlocking position and an elastic system (9, 30, 40, 50) biasing the lock of the lock position, and constituting a toggle-joint system, characterized in that the elastic system (9, 30, 40, 50) comprises an activation portion (12, 28, 31, 54) cooperating with the lock (7, 63) and constituting therewith the toggle-joint system, and in that the elastic system (9, 30, 40, 50) likewise serves as a control lever of the lock. |
