PURPOSE:To obtain detection angles and areas as desired by arranging a plurality of ultrasonic sensors in the same box body so that angles of irradiation thereof are almost equal in the interval while they are driven sequentially in the order of arrangement. CONSTITUTION:Three ultrasonic sensors S1, S2 and S3 are arranged in a box body B set at a corner section of a vehicle C at intervals of about 45 deg. and the detection areas thereof are as shown by E1, E2 and E3. These sensors S1, S2 and S3 are driven sequentially in the order of the arrangement with a driving circuit M whereby detection angles and areas can be obtained easily as desired. This can prevents misinformation otherwise generated by possible penetration of received signals between sensors while allowing only one channel for the driving circuit system thereby cutting the number of parts. |
