PURPOSE:To step up the recovery quantity of a phosphor by 30% or so as compared with the case in the conventional method as well as to reduce the peeling and scattering of the phosphor in a sealing process of work. CONSTITUTION:An outer tube coated bulb 1 with a neck of OD 50phi has a luminous tube housing part, a neck part 2 successive to this housing part and a bead part 3 expanded in diameter from this neck part. A wiper unit is provided wipe-off devices 4 and 7 composed of nylon-make brushes each different in outer diameter, etc., attached to the same rotary shaft 5 at two stages, top and bottom, respectively, setting the topside brush 4 to about OD 50phi while the underside one 7 to about OD 70phi and rotating these brushes with a motor, then they are inserted into the inside from the opening of the bead part 3 of the fixed outer tube coated bulb 1 and phosphors on both the neck part 2 and the bead part 3 are wiped out at the same time by means of the same way as so far done. At this time, the phosphor wiped out are recovered into a dust collector via a guide 6 of the wiper unit fitted with a flexible pipe. According to a method by this invention, the quantity of recovered phosphors works out at about 1.9g/piece, whereas it is merely about 0.7g/piece at best in the conventional method, meaning that the phosphor recovery can be increased by 30 percent in total. |
