The invention relates to a device for a disc brake and drum brake in which each wheel is independent during braking, on the basis of the activation coming from a non-boosted master cylinder MC. Its action is applied to the jack V and to the transducer TR which are connected hydraulically, through an isolation and preload chamber CH. By reaction, the tangential forces applied to the wheel during braking are transmitted to the friction members F1 F2 then to the transducer TR which is of smaller cross-section than V giving rise to the multiplication of the initial force. A loss in grip of the wheel results in the release of TR on the jack V preventing it from locking. A brake servo, limiter or distributor are unnecessary. The device according to the invention optimises the braking of vehicles in forward travel, reverse gear, and when stationary. <IMAGE>
