The suction plate is movable laterally so that the centre of gravity of the roll is always in the centre of turner, irrespective of the width of the roll. This width is read from a scale. The plate is fitted on a tube which also functions as an extra vacuum volume. On the tube is located a vacuum pump driven by compressed air. - Support rollers are driven by an air motor which produces rotary movement, and which is fitted on a fixture, on the top side of which a control unit is placed. This unit provides a signal when adequate vacuum has been constituted, and prevents cut-off of vacuum erroneously when a load is support. The control unit has a check valve, and the turner is suspended in a two-speed electrical lifting block. |
