CONTROL OF AN EXHAUST PUMP IN A CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATOR

PURPOSE: To allow a pump to operate even in a discharge environment or in non-discharge environment to rotate a rotor by providing the inside of a chamber with the pump generating a specified pressure level in accordance with an arranged specific rotor in response to signals displaying identification of the rotor. CONSTITUTION: A rotor detection and identification device 38 is disposed on a prescribed operation position and identifies a specific rotor among a plurality of rotors used for a centrifuge. The signals for displaying the identification of the rotor mounted on a driven spud 40 are used to determine a pressure level for operating a rotor R through a line 90 or 90A. A lookup table related to the pressure level (either one of a sufficient evacuation state or non- evacuation state) for each rotor R to be effectively operated by the centrifugal separator is stored in a memory 92 of a circuit 66.
