The invention relates to a device allowing the remitting of cheques of bank clients without the intervention of a banking agent, while constituting the environment for the banking tools necessary for processing remittances. It consists of a machine 1 managed by a microcomputer 5 and making use of three main units: - identification unit 2 comprising a magnetic or memory card reader 6; - dialog unit 3 comprising a display screen 7 and an input keyboard; - cheque-processing unit 4 comprising a post-marking reader 9 for cheques, a printer 10 and a cheque-storage device 11. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for remitting cheques of individual bank clients. <IMAGE>
