PURPOSE:To provide stable transmission torque through high rigidity structure by a method wherein a traction drive mechanism to provide a speed increasing output from a solar roller through input to a carrier is formed, and a cooling jacket is mounted to a housing. CONSTITUTION:When a carrier 12 interlocked with and coupled to a machine main spindle 41 is rotated, a planetary roller 33 brought into contact with a solar roller 31 is rotated as it is revolved, and a high speed spindle 25 is increased in a speed for rotation through the solar roller 31. Transmission torque is produced through an oil film of lubricating oil located between contact surfaces in a way that a radial pressure contact force is generated at respective contact parts by means of interference of the planetary roller 33 nipped between a fixed ring 2 and the solar roller 31. An increase in temperature along with high speed rotation of a high speed spindle 25 is suppressed by means of a coolant fed to cooling jackets 36 and 37. This constitution enables provision of a high speed spindle device which provides stable transmission torque through high rigidity structure. |
