The invention relates to a method of phase-locking the timing recovered in a digital demodulation, in which: - three successive samples of the demodulated signal, separated from one another by one symbol period, are observed in real time, - the instances wherein these three samples form an ascending or descending sequence are selected so as to be able to interpret the "eye" pointing error signal, - a correction of the phase of the recovered timing is carried out.
