The invention relates to a display case designed in the manner of a table or cabinet. It has vertical supporting wooden posts or pillars (1) which are connected to one another by horizontal frame members (2). Arranged within each of the wooden posts (1) is a stiffening element (7) which extends approximately over the entire length of the post and is constructed, for example, as a metallic tube. The stiffening element (7), which may be glued into the posts (1), has threaded connections (8) for receiving the detachable connecting fittings (10) between the posts (1) and the frame members (2). The display case can be assembled and disassembled in a short time without difficulties and, in the assembled state, has an attractive appearance as well as a high stability. <IMAGE>
