PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of defocused pictures by detecting a foreign matter such as water drops adhered to a focus detecting optical system, and when the detected value is a prescribed value or more, regulating the focal position within a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:A dew condensation sensor A consisting of a pair of transparent electrodes 5, 6 is fitted to the surfaces of window glasses 1a, 1b to detect the insulation resistance or capacity change between the electrodes 5, 6 by a detector 8 when water drops are adhered to the window glasses 1a, 1b and discriminate the detected level by a discriminator 9. When the level is the 1st reference level or less, adhered water drops are regarded as extremely small quantity lens control is executed in a controller 10 in accordance with an output from an automatic focus detector 11. In case of the 1st reference level or more and the 2nd reference level or less, the lens is fixed on a normal focus position or its driving is regulated within a prescribed range. In case of the 2nd reference level or more, the status is regarded as underwater photographing and the regulation is released to drive the lens in accordance with the output of the detector 11. |
