Process for the manufacture of ledeburitic steels with a globular solidification structure

Ledeburitic steels are caused to solidify with a globular structure by remelting the air-melted steels in a vacuum-arc furnace under an atmosphere of nitrogen or a mixture of nitrogen and inert gas at a pressure of 5-760 torr.
